We get things wrong sometimes. When we do, we fix the story and say so in public.
Our policy
- When a published story, event or profile has a factual error, we fix it as soon as we confirm it.
- Every fix of a fact adds a dated note at the end of the item that says what was wrong and what changed. We do not quietly change facts.
- Spelling, grammar and formatting fixes that do not change the meaning are made without a note.
- Every correction note is also listed on this page, newest first.
